Board since November 2020

President: Kerstin Jentsch-Mancor

Kerstin was born in Berlin and grew up in Mainz. There she first studied Latin and English to become a teacher and completed her literature studies in England. She is particularly interested in the culture of remembrance and the interface between history and narrative. In addition to English and French, she speaks Greek and is learning Spanish. Since 2015 she has been teaching German as a foreign language at various (language) schools and works for the Goethe-Institut in Montreal.

Vice President: Andrea Frings

Andrea was born and raised in Germany. She developed a passion for languages and travel very early on, during her first student exchange in France (she was 13). She studied French and Spanish in Dresden, Nantes and Granada, to teach languages. After her master's degree, she took part in the language assistant program offered by the Pädagogischer Austauschdienst and the Quebec Ministry of Education, which allowed her to come to Quebec where she has lived since 2000. She is a German teacher and co-coordinator of the Languages department at Cégep de St-Laurent, as well as educational director of the German Schools of Montreal Center and South Shore.

Secretary: Neslihan Sriram-Uzundal

Neslihan Sriram-Uzundal comes from Germany. She studied German and English to become a teacher at the University of Tübingen and completed a Master of Arts in German Literature. In 2021, she moved to Canada to do a PhD in Education at Concordia University. She is interested in teaching and learning in a multicultural context. She also teaches German at the Saturday schools. Since November 2022 she has also been Secretary of the APAQ Board.

Treasurer: Inken Kaumann

Inken Kaufmann was born and raised in Germany. She was enthusiastic about languages from an early age and studied at Kiel University. In order to improve her language skills and to get to know other countries, she has regularly traveled abroad. During an exchange year at the UdeM in Montreal, she was immediately impressed by the linguistic diversity and multiculturalism of the city. After successfully completing her master’s degree and a DaF certificate, she emigrated to Canada in 2010. She has since been working in language schools and as a German teacher for the Goethe Institut in Montreal and at Saturday German schools.
